Grab 'Em Update! version 0.4 changelog

UPDATE MAJOR NOTE:

  • Switching to a new way to name creature's file names to fix some bugs, but there's a temporary one that spawned:
  • Loading the game for the first time from the previous version (0.3) will display your creatures as all the same default cat. Fear not! Just close and reopen the game and from then on they'll load with their correct features!

New:

  • Pick up your creations and drag them around with right click!
  • Use the whistle button to arrange all your creations in the center!
  • Cute new paw cursor!
  • 17 new body features!
    • 3 new neck types, 4 new hands, 2 new feet, 1 new tail, 2 new wings, 3 new cheek/face sides, 2 new horns
  • A ton of new randomized name options
  • Added blob shadows under creatures and lil dust particles when they run
  • On feature change, a Sparkle particle effect and animation play
  • On finished edit or new creature, they drop in and do a lil pose
  • Slider sound effects!
  • Settings menu with volume sliders! Woaw, it's like a real video game now!
    • Also have a fullscreen/windowed toggle for desktop
  • Can now separately color tail, ears, side cheeks, hands, wings, feet, and neck
  • New Lobby UI buttons
  • Names are now entered with an on-screen keyboard, making the game 100% mouse playable!
  • Zoom the camera in and out with scroll wheel
  • New logo on the splash screen
  • Click and drag now supported for rotating character in Editor
  • Sit animation added to Editor
  • Embiggened the menus a bit

Fixed:

  • Can now name creatures the same name without overwriting the one already named that
  • Body parts don't disappear at the edge of the frame
  • Creature spinning in the Editor when player in in the Lobby
  • Updated "Planned Features" text to better reflect what I think I want to get done for release
  • Bug where it would take multiple clicks on the same button to change a face feature
  • Some face feature's blank options weren't there or didn't work, now fixed

Known Bugs:

  • Renaming an existing creature will cause a bit of funkyness/duplication
  • Drop in & pose creatures might still move around, instead of staying still for you to admire it
  • Funky rotation and direction when arranging with whistle, will be fixed later but it's kind of charming for now haha
  • Feet and hands sometimes don't color correctly in the lobby until you edit and save the creature
  • Changing the main body color will overwrite your separate hand/feet/neck/etc colors
  • Some weird behavior when going back and forth from title screen, so the scenes are one way for now. Reload the game to access the links in the title screen!
  • Cursor is HUGE in the browser version
